At Unica Iron and Steel, on-the-job industrial metal training is provided to the entire workforce to continually bolster their skills.
Being a first of its kind in South Africa, the Unica Iron and Steel industrial metal plant employs people from the community who have never had prior experience in the steel industry. Most learn the bulk of the theoretical knowledge and technical skills while already employed. This makes workplace training an expedient component of Unica Iron and Steel’s corporate practice.
Employees are trained primarily on safety measures that are required of them in the industrial metal plant. They then proceed to proper and effective handling of factory equipment and industrial metal.
